You need shows that document the history of racing, like Victory By Design or Legends of Motorsport.

If you're going to do vintage racing, you should also provide vintage broadcasts. I understand that finding seventies and earlier would be tough, but even old IMSA races from the 90s would be enough to satisfy.

Don't forget about the major racing leagues: Speed WC, Grand Am, ALMS, F1. Provide plenty of coverage of them.

Do not succumb to dirt racing, NASCRAP, or any mildly racing-related programming. That's how Speed corrupted.

The major series you highlight all have contracts with SPEED and are not likely to change to a small, limited distribution network, if TRN makes it off the ground.

Luckily NASCAR won't be interested either.

I wish for 2 wheel enthusiasts to finally have the coverage they deserve.

-World Superbike Championship (complete, uninterrupted coverage)
-MotoGP (complete coverage)
-Isle of Man TT coverage
-British Superbike coverage
-AMA Superbike coverage within a week of the actual race

Basically any motorsport that DOES NOT consider an oval to be technical would be nice.

HD would be nice too, but I'll take what I can get. Wink

^Yeah ! How about Isle of Man anything in HD before Discovery tries to do it on HD Theater ? Wink

How about a half hour show that just provides news updates on the coolest race machines from around the world ? Twisted Evil

For all in Canada, this post is so timely it isn't funny.

My wishlist for TRN includes Formula 1. Useless 3rd world country style "TSN" (Canadian sports monopoly station) has blacked out F1 on Speed.... TSN announcers always carry clipboards, all look like they survive on illegal steroid injections and think a racing car is a Prius with a wax job...oh, that's (legal disclaimer) an IMO, by the way.

Ummmm....TSN doesn't do the broadcasts, they have bought the BBC feed and that must have cost more than the ITV feed has cost them in the past. TSN has always had the exclusive rights to air F1 in Canada but have never pushed it except for the Canadian GP and in Quebec...Until now.

SPEED has the exclusive right to show F1 in the US and since it is established in that role and has a larger audience than TRN will have, at least for the first few years, don't look for F1 to leave SPEED.

Those of us in Canada who love the SPEED feed got screwed with all this crap. That awful droning, incessant commentary of the BBC broadcasters was boring and not the least entertaining. Hopefully TSN will lighten up and let us have the SPEED re-air and Practise. SPEED says they are negotiating with TSN so cross your fingers that the situation improves.

PS: Isn't the guy on steriods with the clipboard David Coultard? Drivers always puff up when they quit driving. Laughing

So SPEED won't be the only game in town...so to speak. Surprise surprise. At least IOM will be shown in the US. That is a good thing.

Velocity could be the end of TRN. The audience just isn't big enough for more than a couple race networks.

I want to assume that Velocity will show automotive/motorsport 'specials' rather than follow racing series. I still think TRN can fill the huge racing series gap if they get the chance. We will see.

Sounds a bit optimistic if you ask me. If you set up a channel like that then you want to attract viewers who like racing by showing racing. And they have Discovery backing them similar to Fox backing SPEED. TRN, as yet, doesn't have that sort of backing.

Velocity should hire Jim to run that network.
